On Monday, June 29th, 2015, 144 golfers hit the links at Devil’s Pulpit golf course for the 7th Annual Canada Company Golf Tournament. The tournament, which sold out once again, supports Canada Company’s MET Program. Golfers were joined by members of the Canadian Armed Forces, who provided a new twist on the term “shotgun start.”
Players enjoyed a sunny June day that featured several demonstrations by the Canadian Armed Forces personnel who were present. After beginning the day with a gourmet breakfast, including filet mignon cooked in a CAF portable kitchen, Search and Rescue (SAR) Techs demonstrated a search and rescue jump and retrieval from a Cormorant helicopter at Hole 1. Golfers were also treated to a CAF weaponry show-and-tell session, grenade throwing lessons, and a chance to interact with a variety of birds of prey, used to keep CAF airfield clear of other birds.
After a great day of golf, TSN sports announcer Rod Black congratulated Team Edward Jones, the day’s winning foursome, who were then presented with their trophies.
